About Academy Soccer

Sozo Football Club strives to create an environment where youth soccer players can reach their full potential on the field while being inspired to become successful, contributing members of the community. Our club proudly comprises around 350 players competing in the Washington State Regional Club League, Washington Premier League,  and MLS Next.

Academy purpose

Sozo Academy exists to introduce and develop young athletes (ages 3 through 6th grade) through age-appropriate training, positive coaching, and intentional character development — preparing them for higher levels of play, including Sozo FC, while building character, leadership, and opportunity for youth through sports.

  • What's the difference between Sozo FC & Academy soccer?

    Sozo FC (Club soccer) is a premier team with a paid coach, unlike our academy program, which is recreational soccer.


    Club teams offer professional coaching, demand greater training dedication, and participate in games outside their hometowns, earning them the moniker "traveling teams."


    Club coaches have often played at a collegiate or professional level and hold certifications from the United States Soccer Federation (USSF). However, the increased quality of coaching and administration comes with higher fees compared to our academy soccer programs.

  • What's the difference between Select & Academy soccer?

    Sozo Academy is our recreational soccer program for players of all skill levels, with a focus on learning the game, building skills, and having fun. Sozo Select is the next step for players who want more training and stronger competition but aren’t quite ready for premier soccer. Select helps bridge the gap between Academy and Sozo FC while continuing to build confidence and a love for the game.

  • What's the difference between Academy and Micro Academy soccer?

    Micro Academy is for children ahed 3-5 years old.


    Academy is recreational soccer for children in kindergartedn through 7th grade.

  • What ages can participate in Academy?

    Micro Academy: Ages 3-5

    Academy: Kindergarten - 7th grade

  • Do you have to tryout for Academy?

    No, you do not have to tryout for Academy soccer.

  • How much does Academy soccer registration cost?

    Price ranges from $95-$105 for Micro and $125-$135 for Academy depending on when you register.

  • When & where are practices held?

    All practices will be heald at Sozo Sports Complex.

  • Can I bring pets to Sozo Sports Complex?

    Animals are not allowed, with the exception of service animals for guests with disabilities. Emotional Support Animals are not considered Service Animals in the State of Washington and are not allowed entry. Ref WA State Law - RCW 49.60.040.
